Menu icons are graphical elements that contain options menu. The options menu shown to users when they press the nenu icon or place mouse over the menu icon. First icon was designed and used in 1980, over 30 years after computer is invented.
On Mac OS the menu icons are located on the top of the screen.
The options menu drops down when you place mouse on top of the icon.
